Who We Are

Angeline & Associates, LLC is solopreneurship run by Accountant and Business Consultant Angeline Smith. Smith is the primary service provider of accounting and consulting services and periodically relies on the support of other professionals, "The Associates", as she serves her clients.

The firm is a one stop shop that provides wrap-around services to small business owners, nonprofit organizations and individuals who aspire to form one of these types of businesses.  

What We Do

Our services include everything from business start-up and formation assistance (nonprofit and for-profit) to business plan development, board training and support, strategic planning, QuickBooks accounting and training, payroll processing and tax preparation.

Who We Serve

Our clients range from one-man (or woman) run home-based operations to small businesses—including nonprofit organizations—with up to 50 employees. We primarily serve clients located throughout southeastern Michigan.  With the use of smart technology and through occasional travel-based projects, we also support clients across the country.

What We Are Best Known For

The firm is best known for Angeline's ability to serve the “whole client”.  We are truly a one stop shop.

For example, an aspiring small business owner can secure our services to take them through a comprehensive business planning process.  We will work with them to develop a sound business plan that can be submitted to financial institutions to secure start-up financing. 

After start-up funds are secured, the client can continue working with us to begin the business formation process, which involves filing the appropriate paperwork necessary to be recognized as a legal business entity at both the state and federal levels. This also includes, but is not limited to; registering for sales tax licenses (or if a nonprofit, licenses to solicit funds).

Once the business is considered a legal entity, the client can use our consulting expertise that might involve the development of policies & procedure manuals and key job descriptions, workflow management assistance and help with other objectives outlined in the business plan.

As a fully operational business, this client can take comfort in knowing that they can focus on the day-to-day duties of the business, while we support them by taking on the accounting and payroll processing activities that are critical but can be a major distraction from growing and sustaining a business. In this role as a professional service provider, we will also file all of the necessary quarterly payroll tax forms as well as any annual business forms that are typically required by state agencies.

Finally, we are also in a position to help our clients with year-end closing by providing professional tax preparation services.

Note that while the above scenario is based on our services to for-profit businesses, the same one-stop-shop concept is also applicable to our nonprofit clients based on our expertise and knowledge in all areas of nonprofit management and accounting.

She is a degreed Accountant who can "crunch the numbers" and can effectively communicate the impact of the numbers on her clients' operations. She is also an experienced management consultant with the ability to develop and implement processes and practices that will facilitate successful outcomes for clients. She is both an accountant and consultant with the background and expertise to serve the whole client.

Another competitive advantage is that as a solopreneur who uses contract labor in a limited basis and operates from a professional home office, Angeline incurs very little overhead costs. This means that our customers can enjoy very competitive and budget friendly rates.
